The past weeks had been good in terms of financial venture, as I’ve seen the rise of some of the stocks I invested in. I was holding back though in buying more shares coz the prices are higher. hehe I told myself, it will go up and up anyway so better buy soon.
Other investments like to buy gold coins is also advisable. I already have a couple of gold coins bought a decade back and it would be nice if I can add more. I know its value will increase through time and I can even pass it on to my children someday. Oh if only I have the money for this. Investing and putting up my dream business wouldn’t be a problem. Gotta start little by little. In time, it might add up to something.
Hubby was listening to old songs in his laptop earlier, and when my favorite song played, my heart skipped. Ahhh! Even after a decade (or maybe more), that song still didn’t fail to make me happy. I felt a little nostalgic though, for the memories it reminded me of.
Back in those days, I’d listen to the likes of Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson, two of the power trio known as G3. Yep, I liked listening to guitars and these two were my favorite. Trivia about Satriani, he has been using his own signature guitar, the Ibanez JS Series, which spells awesomeness! I wonder what kind of guitar straps he uses to go with his guitars.
I guess I’d be taking myself down memory lane the next days listening to the music I used to like then. Miss listening to ‘em!
Facebook! I spent some time browsing on friends’ pictures posted. This is why I don’t like adding many friends in my account coz I can’t help but click on their posts and there goes my precious time!
Anyway, saw my cousin’s post of a recent party she attended. She seemed happy in the pictures, though I’m sure she hasn’t gotten over the sadness she’s feeling over the unfortunate demise of her dad last month. It was a nice to see her in a party dress, quite a change from her usual nursing uniforms. Outfit and make-up can really make a person improve his/her look.
And as for me, I was able to upload pictures from last weekend’s birthday party of my son, in Facebook and Picassa. So, it was my friends turn to spend their precious time watching the pictures I uploaded, that is, if they got tempted to click on it. teehee!
What did you get for Christmas? You’re probably comparing notes with your family members and friends after Christmas day. I received useful stuff, so I am very pleased with this year’s bounties!
How about you? Did you get your dream mobile phone? or notebook? Or did you just receive yoga socks? Hehehe Whatever it is we receive, let’s be thankful to the giver/s. It’s not easy to come up with gift ideas for people sometimes especially those you don’t know that much, or those that have everything or can afford anything they want. Sigh. The latter is the hardest to choose for. I’m talking from experience! So just think that it’s the thought that counts and the effort in buying the gift that matters. If you don’t find the stuff you got useful, simply keep it for someone else.
Few days to go before Christmas and we still haven’t bought anything for the in-laws and I’ve got nothing for hubby too. I’m trying my luck in finding the best cigar deals just in case we couldn’t come up with something interesting for Dad to buy.
As for me, well hubby has been asking me what’s my wish. It seems I couldn’t even figure out what I want for myself. I think I have everything I need and with the recent tragedies happening around me, I feel like money should be spent on something more worthwhile and not just on anything, just because its Christmas and I am supposed to open gifts on that day.
I am grateful enough for the good health and safety of everyone in our family. I just wish everyone else will have a meaningful Christmas inspite of the trials they’re facing, especially the loss of loved ones.
Having lots of electronic devices at home, we also use a lot of batteries. We’d have a few bad experiences with several brands and types, and fortunately hubby already knows which are those to avoid. I tried searching for radioshack and got two results, both cordless phone batteries. It helps that they have ratings and reviews by customers, coz it gives us idea if a certain type of battery is good or not. We seldom use our phone at home though coz hubby and I both have mobile phones, but its good if our home phone is loaded with quality batteries so it doesn’t give us problems in times when we need it. You can check out The Source for more electronic products, and of course the great deals they’re offering on their Cyber Week Sale! Better do your Christmas shopping to get more savings!

Dealing with store or office employees sometimes can be a pain in the neck. There are times when they don’t do their jobs properly, treat customers in a rude away or offer lousy services that all you can think about is to write a complaint to their bosses. It’s easy to report and identify these people to their heads or supervisors if they’re wearing office name plates. In my opinion, it should be mandatory for employees who are tasked to interact with customers to wear name plates. They would think twice in acting rudely if their names are displayed for everyone to see. Even when doing transactions over the phone, I’d ask for the name of the person I am talking to, so the next time I have to deal with them, I can say that “I talked to Mr. or Ms. and he/she told me this”… “According to Mr. or Ms….” I can quote what they told me. It usually helps catch the culprits!
My little boy is growing so fast! Come to think of it, in two months he will be 2 years old already! I just got over from heartbreak (just exaggerating!) when his big sis started going to preschool and here he is, also in the process of slowly shedding off his dependency on Mama!
I’ve been planning his birthday in my head already, like what cake he’ll have, the decors, the theme… And since I’m going to be doing it all by myself, it will be tasking. I’d probably bake him chocolate and banana cupcakes and place it in a 3 tier cake stand. That might take me a day to do that. If I run short of time, I might have to resort to an overnight cupcake delivery. We’ll see!
The decors, I can already make in advance but the limited availability of materials in Prague makes it difficult. If I order online, it will take some time for the shipment of products. I don’t usually fret over these matters. A two year old boy wouldn’t know the difference anyway of a party with or without decors and that entire hullabaloo. If it’s too much to do, a simple celebration would suffice. What’s important is thanking God for Adie’s birthday.
Anniversaries are important events in a person’s life. Birthdays and wedding anniversaries are probably the most common.
Silver and golden Wedding anniversaries are usually celebrated big time to commemorate these special milestones in a couple’s marriage. Some would throw a lavish party for family and friends.
When my parents had their Silver Wedding Anniversary, they had renewal of vows in a chapel attended by the immediate family. This is a common practice for Catholics. All of us siblings participated in the celebration of the Mass. It was an intimate affair followed by a sumptuous lunch in a restaurant. Then at night, my mom invited our community’s choir for a dinner party.
And while celebrations such as these wouldn’t be without any food, you bet flowers for anniversaries are always present too.
I haven’t been checking my other blogs the past months, and when I did a while back, I was surprised with all the spam comments I got! Whew! It’s entirely my fault. I should have moderated the comments settings so I am spared with unwanted adverstisements. With that settled already, I am relieved knowing I won’t be getting any more of those spam comments.
It’s really difficult to sort out the ads which are useful for me among the heaps of spam; rv insurance in case we buy an rv in the future (dream on!), fashion sale, travel deals… When I have the time, I will go through each of the comments, delete those that are not important and relevant to my post, and keep the important ones. But the question is, when do I have the TIME?
In two years time, my youngest child will also be going to school. I hope that will give me enough free time to venture into things that I love to do which will also earn me some money. Right now, with only one kid to take care of while the other one goes to school, I still don’t have enough time for other things aside from housechores and child care.
Looking for jobs can also be an option for me when the kids are in school. There are many different jobs posted in the internet such as Senior Executive Account, Store Manager, Freelance Writer and Food Service Manager jobs to name a few. I don’t know if I want to tied down in an 8-5 job. I’d rather work from home or get into lucrative business.
Some parents are cool with having their kids play computer games or console games. My kids are only 4 y/o and 19 months and I don’t want to introduce them to these kinds of games (yet?). Well, later when they’re older, they’d probably get to learn it from their peers, but not as early as now. I’d rather let them run around outside or get creative than spend their time with games.
This Christmas, there won’t be a need to purchase xbox 360 or xbox 360 hdmi cable, as we won’t be getting them. But hey, this mama is interested in having a wii for fitness. Geez!
One of Caity’s favorite thing to do is to ride on ponies. When we were in Sweden on a short vacation, we had to squeeze into the little time we had there for her to ride on a pony. She was very happy though, so we really didn’t mind. After she alighted the horse, she asked for another round but there was a long queue and we really couldn’t spare any more time there.
Two weeks ago, when we attended a children’s activity, there was a free pony ride which Caity didn’t miss to take advantage of. There were fine horses, with accessories probably bought from english horse tack store. The kids had lots of fun taking turns, riding the ponies. With her love for horse-riding, it makes me wonder if Caity would want to be an equestrian someday.
While most people get into yoga for attaining peace, for relaxation or fitness purposes, others are doing for getting healthy. According to the article I read from Yo Basics, yoga can help in treating diabetes. By doing gentle yoga regimen, diabetes patients can be helped in stabilizing their blood sugar levels, lose weight and can probably even lessen their risk of secondary complications.
An increase in yoga schools, and sales of yoga products such as sunshine yoga mats are results of more and more people getting into yoga. In fact, a friend of mine is seriously considering enrolling in a yoga course. I think she’s also going to do it for health purposes coz she lately complains of having migraine attacks.
I recently chatted with a cousin whom I haven’t heard for sometime. She updated me about her life especially about heart matters. It all started when I teased her about having a boyfriend and she opened up and told me that she’s in a relationship for two years now.
Though the guy seems responsible and a good one, there is a legal matter that’s keeping their relationship from moving forward. The guy used to be married and is still waiting for it to be annulled. I don’t know if they’re into promise ring etiquette but with this predicament they’re in, it doesn’t seem like they’re going to tie a knot anytime soon. The church annulment would take about two years more, and in that time, there’s plenty of things bound to happen.
My cousing asked for prayer support for thei relationship, that God will show His plan for both.
Summer break is over, and that means holding off any travel plans as kids go back to school and parents are back to work. But not for my friend who’s planning to fly to Asia for this month. She’s bringing home her little boy for the first time to see her family. Life isn’t easy for her, especially that she financially supports herself and her kid, after she divorced her husband. But she’s missing her mother and friends back home, so even if she has to get cash advances from work, she did it just to shoulder her travel expenses.
I really do wish her success in her present work. I know she’s got what it takes to succeed. It only takes time and more perseverance on her part. With her homecoming, meeting family and friends and seeing the country she misses so much, I’m sure it will give her that boost she needs to go on with her life and to face the challenges that will come along the way.
Being away from loved ones is difficult, but thanks to technology, communication has never been easier and affordable. For my case, I use the internet to chat or video call my family back in the Philippines. Sometimes, my parents and my siblings who are located in various parts of the globe also do cheap conference calls for important matters or even just to keep in touch and give updates about our lives. These conference calls really bridge the gap among us who are far from each other and it feels like we’re all in one room. Though we live in different continents, the time difference doesn’t stop us from communicating with each other. If not for the wonders of technology, I don’t know how I will be able to fight homesickness.
