weight loss pill

September 30, 2008

Who wants to lose weight? Step up!

Well, I don’t know if Phentermine is the right drug for you to take, but based on its review, this appetite suppressant pill has been approved by the FDA and has been used by obese patients to lose weight.  According to studies, Phentermine causes 10-15% more weight loss compared to a placebo. Sounds good! Anyway, if you ever take this diet pill, don’t forget to incorporate it with proper diet and exercise.  It works best that way.

taking pictures of baby sleeping

September 26, 2008

Yesterday before I placed baby C on our bed for a nap, I laid out her baby bedding first.  I was planning to take photos while she slept, and her baby bedding would make the whole set-up cute. Unfortunately, I was only able to take two shots coz the little one woke up.  She really has sensitive ears that even the sound of the camera snapping awakened her. Huuuuu! I hope next time she gives me the chance to take her sleeping photos.

about poker

Do you play poker?  It seems that this game has been getting popular lately. Even on TV I see tournaments for it.   There was even a movie Lucky You where real life poker champions got to star with Eric Bana and Drew Barrymore and much of the movie was shot in a Vegas casino.

Drew Barrymore and Eric Bana at the poker table.

The Academy Award-winning director Curtis Hanson  has this to say about the movie and poker which affirms my observation: “With millions of people watching poker weekly on television, it was important to capture the authenticity of the game and its players. To that end, the Poker Tables in ‘Lucky You’ are primarily populated by poker players, not actors pretending to be poker players. Our stars trained for months in order to convincingly play side by side with top poker professionals cast in fictional roles.”

If you’re setting up a place for games such as poker, Texas holdem and the likes to take advantage of its demand, you can get your poker tables and other gaming supplies at American gaming Supply. They sell quality poker tables at great value.  They offer free delivery within US and give out discounts on multiple wholesale purchases through their online shop.

Don’t forget to visit American Gaming Supply for your poker and gaming needs!

photo image recovery software

I bet this has happened to you one time or maybe more.  I myself was a victim of my own recklessness.  It was my baby’s 8th month birth day and we celebrated it with a dinner with the family.  Naturally I took some pictures for souvenir.  I was happy with my shots coz the little girl cooperated and there were two shots where me and my parents with the little girl that were nicely taken.

As soon as we got home, I was so excited to see the pictures.  I transferred them and deleted the photos from the camera to make space for any upcoming photo shoot.  When I opened the album where I supposedly transferred the pictures, I was surprised that it was empty!  I apparently made a mistake!  I thought I had transferred them already but I didn’t!  I asked hubby if the pictures can still be retrieved.  He said there might be a software for that, but we couldn’t find any.

Has this happened to you?  It’s very frustrating right?  But I lately discovered that there really is a Photo Image Recovery Software that can recover lost photos whatever kind of image file it is and it can even recover audio and video files.  Thank goodness for this software called Photo Nose.  It’s worth having especially that most of us have big photo collections!

sometimes…

September 24, 2008

Though we seldom watch shows in our TV, I sometimes wish we have a big LCD TV complete with a home theater seating in our living room where we can watch movies and pretend like we’re in a movie theater.  But such electronic product is not on our list of priority.  I’m not really that crazy over LCD TV anyway.  With my loads of work everyday, I barely have the luxury of watching TV shows.

essential tool for travelers

Traveling always excite me and oftentimes stresses me out too.  The thrill of seeing new sights, experiencing new culture, meeting new people, tasting new cuisine and everything else new that you will be encountering during the travel makes travelers all excited.

Preparation is the most important task a traveler should do.  Without proper preparation, a trip can be a disaster.  And lastly, to store all these wonderful travel memories we captured in camera, we need a tool where we can organized and relived the experiences.

Sosauce Travel is the right answer for all travelers.  With their cool website, one can browse for pre trip planning resources and also record and recreate the trip using their interactive map, photo albums where you can upload and display your travel photos, and journals.  You can also share travel tips and reviews of the places you’ve visited.  It will be helpful to other travelers who are planning to go to the places you’ve been to.   That reminds me to give it a try coz I have been travelling to several cities the past summer and I want to have a place where I can put all those memories for me to see and share with friends and family too.

How safe is the internet?

September 23, 2008

I can’t help but worry at times whenever I do my transactions or write my mails if my activities online are secure.  We hear email accounts being hacked, government websites being hacked and also credit accounts.  Only recently news about Sarah Palin’s hacked email account has rocked internet users.  This brings us, internet users to ask if internet can be trusted.

A bright idea known as the Trusted Internet evolved from the genius mind of Comodo’s CEO Melih Abdulhayoglu. This idea is inspired with the mission to create trust online for the benefit of the millions of internet and computer users.

With the multi-layered security system, internet users can easily find and determine what they want online and transact only with trusted sites and merchants.  The sites’ credibility can be verified easily too, this giving confidence to users in doing their online activities.  Also the computers themselves will have the ability to automatically find products and information only from reputable and credible merchants thus securing our identities and personal information.   The best thing of all is that no one has to pay anything for this internet protection coz it comes for free!  There is no license to pay for, that means everyone can benefit from this project.

This really makes me happy personally coz I recently wanted to buy a slimming gadget but hubby was doubtful whether the site was real.  He said it might be claiming something that’s fake and my money will only be wasted.  But thanks to Comodo’s Trusted Internet,  I can now verify any sites or the merchants I want and weed out those who are unreliable.

a.l.o.n.e

Quiet.  That’s how it is here at this moment at home.  Hubby and the little girl are out to visit granny.  Granny had some gifts for the little girl and it’ only after work that hubby has the time to pick it up. I’m grateful for this quiet time I have. It’s seldom I can enjoy such treat.  Hubby said I should rest while they’re away.  But I know no matter how I try, I just couldn’t sleep coz my mind will only think about all the work that’s waiting for me.  That’s why I’m here in front of my notebook.

Anytime they will be back home and the stillness will be broken, either by the little girl’s laughter or cry.  We’ll see later which sound will resound in the four corners of our home.

how to say it…

September 19, 2008

diet pills!  Should I recommend this to my fat friend?  How do you think should I open the topic to her?  I’m afraid she’ll get mad at me if I comment on her weight.  Though we’re thousand of miles apart, we still see each other in the chat room.  Should I tell her about it through chat or wait till see each other in person?  Or maybe just leave her alone?  Why am I bothered with her weight anyway? Coz she’s my friend!

my fat friend

When I went home for vacation in our hometown, I met with a former classmate in elementary.  She really surprised me with how she has turned fat.  With the problems and stress she had experienced in her marital life, I guess she turned to food for relief.  And being in the food business added to her ballooning figure.  She really needs to exercise or take a fat burner to lessen her weight but I don’t even know if she’s doing any of these.

faulty PC monitors

Lately my dad was complaining about the monitors of the two PCs they have.  The screen suddenly turns black.  They brought it to the service center for check-up.  It has been repaired but still both screens are acting up.  I told him to see how much the pricing of new flat screen monitors just to compare if it’s worth buying new.  I don’t know what the brands were, but we found out that prices of monitors back in BCD are higher compared here.  How about Viewsonic monitors?  Have to check yet.

the cold day makes me dream…

September 15, 2008

Since last night, the temperature has dipped down to winter-like.  I heard it’s not going to get better.  It seems then that summer is gone though it’s not officially autumn yet.

Cold times like this make me dream of being in warm countries.  Hubby’s dad is currently in Greece enjoying his two weeks vacation. What a great life for him!  Greece is still one of the places I’d like to visit.  Mykonos would be one of those places in Greece.  It’s got some charming landmarks such as the windmills, little Venice, the Aegean Maritime Museum to name a few. I was also looking at Mykonos villa rentals and they’re really lovely to stay at especially if you’re vacationing with family.  I’ll keep that dream alive. In the meantime, I’ll just turn on the heater to high to warm myself.

living the american dream

September 13, 2008

I have relatives who are now based in the US, actually lots of them.  That’s including my dad’s brother and his family who have been living there for more than four years already. They live good lives.   I heard my cousins all have nice jobs even when two are still in school.  They have a car of their own and they’re currently saving to buy their own house.  You can say they’re living the American dream which most immigrants are dreaming of.
With my cousins’ intelligence, I’m sure they’ll get more chance in working for top positions in big companies.  We’ll see once they finish their diploma and submit their Boston resumes, I expect them to get the positions they applied for.

the happy baby

happy baby

That’s my girl!  The one who’s scattering the toys all over the house.  She’s sitting in her new-found territory, on top of the desk with her toys.  She can now climb there with ease and crawls back and forth once she’s there.  Fortunately on the other side is our bed, so if ever she falls, she’ll land on a soft spot.

You can read and see more of this girl’s antics and adventures in her own blog - happy caity. :)

epocrates online

Learning about certain types of medications is helpful even with the prescriptions of doctors.  Its always best to double check what kind of medicine they give, what are its ingredients, its side effects and uses.  There are instances when doctors make mistakes with their prescriptions and doing your own job as a patient can prevent you from harm too.

I should know, this case has happened to my mom.  The doctor prescribed her a certain medicine which wasn’t good for her.  Grrrr!  We could have sued for that!  But my mom was too kind not to.

Anyway, with the free online clinical solution and resources from Epocrates, clinicians and patients alike can use this to learn about health care and other health-related subjects.  So if you want to know about Lexapro, a visit to Epocrates website will give you the information you need.

toys all around

toys

Every parent with tiny kids would understand this situation.  It’s a common sight in the household seeing toys scattered all around the house.

This morning, we were doing our usual weekend cleaning and only few minutes after I placed all of baby C’s toys inside her box, they were all out again.  Hahaha  It seems I have to wait till she’s old enough to understand how she should keep her toys inside the box after playing.  I’ll leave her to enjoy playing in the meantime; that’s what life is to babies anyway - sleep, eat and PLAY!

investing in real properties

September 10, 2008

Real estate is one of the most rewarding investments an investor can ever have.  Though it requires big amount of money, the return can be tripled or more in a matter of years especially if it is a prime location.

Such is the case with the properties that the Oceanico Group is offering.    They have been developing lands and turning them into luxury properties.  Among their developments are the Vilamoura Golf & Garden Resort and the Amendoeira Golf Resort.  The former has luxury apartments and villas with beautiful landscaped gardens while the latter is a natural paradise.

So if you’re into investing in portugal property, its better you check out the Oceanico Group and their latest land development!

A small glimpse of the Amendoeira Golf Resort:

my job :)

Unlike most employees, my job doesn’t require me to report to the office from 8-5, Mondays to Fridays.  I don’t need to wear an office uniform.  I don’t have specific time for lunch breaks, coffee breaks or whatever breaks there are.  I am not paid every 15th or end of the month.  I can say I don’t have a boss. Hmmmm maybe I have?  What else do I don’t do?
But what I do are actually a lot of things.  I teach, I cook, I wash (dishes and dirty butt too!), I bathe, I feed, I clean (though most of the time its hubby), and I’m on call anytime of the day, even weekends by my little girl. (No boss huh!)  So there, you’re not that stupid not to guess what my job is.

Oh and the pay doesn’t come in monetary means.  What I get for it are smiles, laughter, hugs, kisses, and any new skills my kid learns - they are all worth the effort I put in.

just another mom’s blah blah

September 9, 2008

As I’ve previously mentioned, I haven’t been getting much rest or sleep.  Whoever said that moms should also rest while the baby is sleeping doesn’t know that there are many OTHER things that needs to be attended too; such as the pile of dishes and the dirty laundry to be washed, the messy house that needs to be cleaned, cooking lunch or dinner, etc.!  How can I just sleep and forget the rest? Then at night, the little one wakes up to breastfeed like every 4 hours.  How can I have a nice and long uninterrupted sleep?  The good thing about being busy though is that it makes me burn my calories fast, thus I am not fat… only, I have a bulging tummy. Eek!  Can a diet pill like Ephedrasil Hardcore get rid of that?  I wonder.
