How safe is the internet?

September 23, 2008

I can’t help but worry at times whenever I do my transactions or write my mails if my activities online are secure.  We hear email accounts being hacked, government websites being hacked and also credit accounts.  Only recently news about Sarah Palin’s hacked email account has rocked internet users.  This brings us, internet users to ask if internet can be trusted.

A bright idea known as the Trusted Internet evolved from the genius mind of Comodo’s CEO Melih Abdulhayoglu. This idea is inspired with the mission to create trust online for the benefit of the millions of internet and computer users.

With the multi-layered security system, internet users can easily find and determine what they want online and transact only with trusted sites and merchants.  The sites’ credibility can be verified easily too, this giving confidence to users in doing their online activities.  Also the computers themselves will have the ability to automatically find products and information only from reputable and credible merchants thus securing our identities and personal information.   The best thing of all is that no one has to pay anything for this internet protection coz it comes for free!  There is no license to pay for, that means everyone can benefit from this project.

This really makes me happy personally coz I recently wanted to buy a slimming gadget but hubby was doubtful whether the site was real.  He said it might be claiming something that’s fake and my money will only be wasted.  But thanks to Comodo’s Trusted Internet,  I can now verify any sites or the merchants I want and weed out those who are unreliable.
