a parent's journey...

new york sights

October 31, 2008

I better take off my mind first about my longed-for trip back home, and dream of another far-away dream destination. Could you guess? Not here in Europe but on the other side of the globe, particularly the City of New York, dubbed as The Big Apple.

I would like to land on one of the three major airports servicing metropolitan New York, the John F. Kennedy International Airport, and take a JFK Airport Shuttle to our hotel. Of course, I’ll not be alone in my travel, but with my dear hubby. In fact I wish to be with more of the family, the more the merrier. We could tour around in a city sightseeing package, on a hop-on Hop-off Double Decker bus, to famous sites such as the Statue of Liberty; the site of the World Trade Center of that infamous 9-11 event; the United Nations Headquarters; the Wall Street, a famous global financial center where the New York Stock Exchange is; the Brooklyn Bridge, to mention some.

Some exciting events to be enjoyed in The City that Never Sleeps (another nick of NYC) are: the harbor cruises, the helicopter rides, the 90-minute NY waterway cruise, and the downtown tours. Amusement parks are also interesting to visit, and there are many, not only in New York, but also in the nearby cities.
