a parent's journey...

poker movies

November 6, 2008

Who doesn’t know poker? Though I really don’t know how this game is played, I usually see tournaments broadcasted on TV; I also get to read about it in websites (casino sites, etc.); and yes, they’re in the movies too! So I guess everyone who has access to TV and internet has an idea what poker is. Simply stated, it’s a card game.

I’ve mentioned in my previous about a poker movie entitled Lucky You starring the pretty Drew Barrymore and Eric Bana. I’ve just found out that it wasn’t actually the first poker-themed film that was released. In 1998, there’s one poker movie entitled Rounders starring Matt Damon and Edward Norton. So I searched for other poker movies and found the top 6 which any poker fan will love. Though they might not be entirely about poker, there are some poker scenes that are interesting to see. First on the list was the Rounders, second was Maverick starring Mel Gibson, third is The Cincinatti Kid which is a poker-filled movie. Fourth is Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, followed by Honeymoon in Vegas and lastly, A Big Hand for a Little Lady.

So poker fans, leave those Poker Tables for awhile and enjoy watching any of these movies mentioned, said to entertain you.
