After a week in our new home and two weeks since we arrived from the Philippines, it was time to call on my friends for a house-warming/get-together affair. The foods I prepared were simple, mostly Filipino foods such as pancit, humba, monggo soup, etc. but the star of the table was the buwad! hehe I brought these goodies from back home which my friends have already missed a lot. Were they happy? Sure they were! Happy and full! The chocolate cake I made which got burned because we don’t know how to use the new oven was even wiped out!
Anyway we were already planning a bit about our summer where to go, just us girls without our husbands. Someone suggested Budapest, Krakow… I don’t know how it will be for me with baby C in tow.

And so we’ve moved in in our new flat. The last week was a hectic one. In between sorting our stuff and packing them up, we were also occupied with looking for a flat to transfer too! As the day of our transfer came close (which was Sunday), we were more pressured to find a place. Thank God we made it just on time. I spent the early dawn of Friday surfing apartment rentals’ sites and found three possible choices but only gave hubby the number of the one that was my top choice. He called the agent Friday morning, got a schedule to see and meet the owner at 1 in the afternoon and at 5pm, we decided it was the place for us. The next day, Saturday at 2pm, hubby was already signing the contract then our move started. Whew! It was tough looking for a flat! I bet it’s more easy to find a cheap auto insurance! I hope I’ll get to like this new home of ours. =)
We took off from the Philippines from Cebu City where we stayed for five days prior our flight. One unexpected but pleasant surprise we got was an offer by my sister’s closest friend to stay for a night at Club Ultima. I didn’t know how famous this place is until I’ved step on the building and heard from my friends raving how great the place is. According to cebuinvestment.com, Club Ultima is a modern and exceptional concept of a suburban club, offering state-of-the-art leisure, wellness and business services. It is the center of Jking & Sons business network all over the country. This bold innovation, engineered by founder and CEO Richard King, seeks to combine the best elements of a metropolitan sports club in one exclusive all-inclusive avenue.
If not for our friend, we wouldn’t have known about Club Ultima. Thanks to her generosity, we had a nice accommodation even for just a night which was comparable to a stay in an Anaheim California hotel!
We’ve arrived safe in Prague last Monday night. Whew! It wasn’t as tough as I expected my travel to be. This time I made sure that I was ready with a stroller for baby C so transferring and moving around the international airport(s) wouldn’t be tiring. Everything was okay except for one disappointing thing. The white ligthing bulbs that I brought with me was confiscated at the Cebu-Mactan International Airport. I bought it coz it’s hard to find such bulbs here in Prague where they mostly have the yellow bulbs available. When dad and I was shopping for it, It took me a lot of time searching among discount lightings and what? only to find out at the airport that those precious bulbs aren’t allowed to be brought outside the Philippines! Huhuhuhu, what a disappointment, really!
With the economic crisis hitting everyone very badly, being employed is risky. You wouldn’t know when the company you’re working for will retrench their workers. On the other hand, owning your own business doesn’t also guarantee that you’re safe from the financial crisis. Probably if your business is in line with human’s basic needs such as food and medicine, then there’s a big chance you’d still be doing good business no matter what the situation is. If you’re planning to start your business, visiting dollar store franchise might provide you with great business ideas to help you get started.
