he caught the virus too

April 26, 2009

I thought after being sick for three days, I’d finally get well in time for the last day of the weekend so we can take our little girl to the park. Got that idea after browsing on rv parks . Thank God I feel well already, but its hubby’s turn to be sick!  I think I passed on the virus to him.  He’s suffering from diarrhea and has a fever with 38.6C temperature. =(  I hope he feels better soon as it’s difficult having to take care of two “babies”!  To keep my work from piling up, I am tackling them now one by one while hubby and our little girl are sleeping.  I’ll take a rest later too just to be sure I’m 100% healthy.

how to lose weight effectively?

I bet it’s easier to look for diet pills that work than take the effort to lose weight especially that summer is only few months away.  For busy moms, spending time in the gym for exercise is something they can’t afford.  There’s tons of work in the office, not to mention the work waiting at home too; and there’s the kids to take care of.  Some though have plenty of time but are simply lazy to sweat it out.  I don’t know how true it is, but they said that diet pills works best only if you incorporate it with a fit lifestyle and habit.  Do you think taking diet pills alone can make one slim?

what a bathroom!

April 24, 2009

My husband was cleaning our bathroom earlier and took out the rubber cover around the shower area.  I have noticed that after few days of using the tub, this rubber cover shrunk and wasn’t sticking to the wall anymore.  That means, water can seep thru the wall and down to wherever it goes.  I hope not to the ceiling of the apartment below us. Hubby said he will glue it back once the tiles and tub are dry but I don’t know how long it will stay in place.

Our landlord should have installed a better water proofing than that rubber cover.  He could have browsed the internet and look for this product. We were even told that the tiles on the wall we’re just glued.  Geeez!  That explains why there aren’t towel bars and toilet paper holder in our bathroom coz if you drill a hole through it, the tiles will just break!

Is it expensive to make good and functional bathrooms?  How come our bathroom is like this? Based on my search in the internet, if you avail of stock clearance and deals, you can even get bathroom suites, tiles and accessories for cheap prices! One good place to shop for bathroom products is at Better Bathrooms where they usually have special offers on their products.

touring NYC

April 17, 2009

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

When visiting a big city like New York, I bet there are tons to see and do; a week wouldn’t be enough to experience everything. It’s better to list down Things to do in New York City so you can schedule your visits and not miss important places of interests. Like for Day 1 you visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and Statue of Liberty. Day 2, you visit the Chinatown (you’d probably end up spending the whole day here) and so on. Having an itinerary for your trip always comes handy especially if you have kids tagging along; much better if you already know how to get there and where it’s exact location is. You’d save a lot of time with being organized and prepared.

If you don’t want to explore the city by yourself, you can always ask an agency to tour you around the city. CitySights NY, a recognized leader in New York City sightseeing operates 60 new double-decker buses to provide tourists with a good viewing of New York City’s attractions and places of interest. They also have different packages to cater to the different interest of tourists. There’s the Super Downtown tour, Super NY tour, Night tour, Uptown & Harlem tour and lots more. If you’re staying for longer time, it would be nice to avail of the different tours as long as you’re not out of cash! hehe

meeting uncle Tom

Caity finally met her Uncle Tom this week again.  She was still a little baby who can only crawl the last time they saw each other. When Tom came home twice from Barcelona last year, we were in the Philippines then (March and then on Christmas).  But he said that he actually isn’t surprised to see Caity’s development coz he has been watching her videos and pictures in the internet.  So the videos and pictures helped a lot in keeping him up to date about our little girl’s progress.

That’s little Caity playing with the colorful giraffe toy that her uncle gave her while her dad watches over.

The family had dinner in Magic Garden, sort of an advance birthday celebration for Tom whose birthday falls on May 9.  Unfortunately he’ll be in Barcelona by that time and won’t be able to celebrate with the family.

kids at play

Caity had fun playing with Angie’s children last Tuesday.  When we arrived at Angie’s house, she was clinging to me all the time, not wanting to be put down but after awhile, she warmed up and started playing with Leah (the girl in purple).  It was nice to see them busy playing. But one time, they were fighting over the red roof of the house. I distracted Caity with the other toys. Whew! I wonder how it is when you have more than one kid.=) Total riot?

on investments

April 16, 2009

Times are hard these days.  Only a month ago, a friend confided that her husband was out of job.  Since he is already past 50 years old, it would be hard for him to find a job again.  This has really caused me think how our family will cope if such difficult situation should happen to us.  God forbid!

Fortunately we have several investments to rely on if ever the worst happens.  It really pays to have investments whether in real estate or in precious metals such as gold or silver.  According to Monaco Rare coin, investing in the finest rare coins have become a rewarding investment.  Being part of Monex companies, Monaco is a trusted coin expert that deals with buy and sell market for rare coins and precious metals products. They help their clients, investor and collector alike in finding the finest rare coin available in the international market.  Dealing with them gives you a sense of security, knowing that you get the most of investing in silver.

We haven’t invested in silver yet, but we have invested in gold numismatic coins.  I think it’s already a good start when it comes to precious metals investment.

surprise offer from a friend

April 2, 2009

Yesterday a friend whom I haven’t heard for sometime popped me a message in my Yahoo Messenger.  She was asking me if I have anything I want to send home to Philippines.  She’s leaving on the weekend for a month’s vacation.  I really couldn’t think of anything important to send so I politely declined her offer.  But she asked again, “how about when I come back?”  Hmmm…  now that’s something else.  There were many things that were flying over my mind, but in the end I asked her to buy a singing Barney stuffed toy for my little girl. I saw one in SM Cebu but didn’t buy it coz I already have a full baggage then.  She said she has 30 kgs. of allowed baggage and she’ll probably be using only 15 kgs. for her own stuff.  It was big difference the last time she flew back to Prague from Philippines - every kilo counted then.  She was  bringing with her many things for her long stay in Prague; moving companies would have made an awful lot of money if she sent her baggage through them, but she was smart enough to let her mom and sister bring the rest of her stuff when they visited her in Prague that same year.  Anyway, I was just surprised with this friend’s offer.  =)
