crystal singing bowls

May 27, 2009

I was intrigued when I saw the words Crystal Singing Bowls while browsing the internet one day.  What is it?  My husband took the chance to tease me and told me that there are even dancing crystal bowls. Huh!  For awhile I was wondering if he had ever heard about this thing before.

Do you know what I found out?  Apparently, these bowls are used for healing and meditation because of its material, the crystal.  Our bodies are said to be composed of crystalline structure thus when stroke, these bowls make listeners respond faster and favorably to the therapeutic soothing sound it creates.  If you have noticed crystals are used in many holistic medicine healing practices.  The most popular I have encountered are the crystal bracelets that are said to have healing powers.

bedtime anxiety

May 20, 2009

Until now baby C is still sleeping with hubby and I.  We’ve been planning to transfer her to her crib but hubby is always busy and doesn’t have time to assemble the crib.  But last night, he finally set it up in our room – he dressed it up with Baby Bedding and arranged the toys to make baby C’s crib appealing.  It helps to have attractive and comfortable beddings so the little girl will like to sleep in there.  But still I expected baby to make a fuss about sleeping on her own coz the last time we tried to put her in her crib, she was wailing a lot!

Come bed time, I placed her in her crib and as expected she attempted to climb over it.  When she failed, that’s when she started to cry loudly.  We kept telling her to sleep on her crib, but the more we talked, the more she cried!  After sometime, we took her out from the crib and she slept with us in our bed again.  We will try again tonight; little by little I hope she gets the idea that it’s about time she has to sleep on her own bed.  Wish us luck!

spring home ideas

May 18, 2009

Since last week I’ve been browsing on home ideas and spring decors.  There are so many brilliant and creative ideas available in the internet; some doesn’t even require lots of money just the use of imagination and one can come up with some really beautiful decors.  One simple tip to make do with what nature has to offer; fresh flowers from the garden, leaves, twigs, etc.

I hope to be able to put what I’ve read into good use this coming Friday.  I was also looking at the tv stands that can be mounted on the wall.  It’s appropriate for families with little kids who likes to tinker with anything within their reach.

saturday shopping

Last Saturday we went shopping in a home depot for several things I’ll need in my upcoming party.  I bought a potted plant, a pot, some kitchen and baking utensils, hubby on the other hand was looking for a toilet paper holder which we can just stick on the wall without drilling.  He also was stuck in the hardware section checking out the screw drivers.  It was quite a big store, not just a light fixture store but it sells all the things one needs for the house that’s why its easy to get tempted looking at all the stuff they sell.

In the evening we went to yet another home store and spend more than two hours browsing their products and shopping too! I regret that I didn’t buy the 3-layered food platter I saw there.  I thought I wouldn’t have the need for it, but  I later realized that it would be a great serving platter coz it’s a space saver. If I really want it, we’ll have to travel 21 kms. (times two) to get there. Boooooo!

cheap branded clothing in free port

A friend of mine was telling me about a free port in the boundary of Austria.  Together with her friends, they plan to go there next month.  She was told that the prices for branded clothing there are very, very cheap.  Some items are sold for more than 50% less.  I don’t think my husband will find it interesting.  He’s not into clothes.  And the thought of traveling for a long distance just to avail of the cheap prices or surplus goods usually doesn’t appeal to him.  With the oil price increase, the money we’ll spend for the gasoline might be just the same as the discount we’ll get. hehe  I’ll just wait for some feedback from my friend after their shopping spree there.

plan your trip ahead of time

May 13, 2009

Nothing beats a trip that has been planned in every detail.  It can save a lot of time, money and trouble.  We’ve had our own mishaps in several of our trips; sometimes no matter how prepared we are there are incidents that happen which are out of our control.  But still, being prepared lessens the hassle.

Honestly, I sometimes like impromptu trips.  My husband is a no-fuss guy who doesn’t mind if I suddenly announce to him that I want to go somewhere.  He makes a perfect travel partner for me.  He can get ready in a matter of minutes and then we’re off to where ever I fancy going to.

Travel is easy these days because of services like a Car Service NY . These kinds of transportation services provide affordable and reliable transportation especially for travelers who are new to the place and don’t have a car of their own.  When you’re in New York, check out the GO Airlink.  They’re one of the trusted car services in the city.

the baby’s here!

May 9, 2009

When I learned that I was pregnant with baby C, we told the happy news to our families and friends verbally and through emails, unlike other parents who kept it secret and formally informed everyone by sending birth announcements. Well, we couldn’t contain the excitement, that’s why the news spread fast! =)

For those who are expecting their bundles of joy, there are many nice designs for announcing such great news!  Aside from birth announcements, you can also order baby shower invitations, baptism invitations, thank you cards, etc.   Pear Tree Greetings can do it all for you and you can find them online.

labor day spent at home

May 3, 2009

Yesterday was a holiday but we spent our day at home cleaning instead of going out.  It actually started when baby C created a mess with my lipstick.  We had to take our beddings and wash it coz it was covered with lipstick.  We also gave the little girl a bath and washed her lipstick-smeared clothes.  Then we rearranged the furniture in the play area so she can’t climb on my computer table and sit on my notebook anymore. Whew!  We just decided to clean the house… It was labor day anyway, so we were meant to work! hahaha.  I hope other moms didn’t spend their holiday cleaning their house, copper kitchen sinks, bathrooms, etc.
