autumn’s coming

August 31, 2010

My friend in Prague recently sent me an IM in Yahoo Messenger.  She asked how my vacation is, and to enjoy it to the fullest coz its already getting cold in Europe.  I bet the people there are a bit sad that the summer season is ending soon.  It will be time for them to say goodbye to their favorite outdoor amusements such as skateboarding, biking, trekking and swimming.

My father-in-law is fond of biking.  He usually goes biking with his friends outside the city during weekends during summer. They carry their bikes in bike thule racks as they drive to the countryside.  Sometimes they just go to his friend’s cottage for the weekend.

With the autumn coming in Europe, people will have to look for other things to do for enjoyment.

on the road

August 29, 2010

Driving alone on a long trip can be risky especially for women.  Imagine if you get a flat tire or ran out of gasoline at night. Weeee!  Scary!

Earlier, dad had to drive my sister to a restaurant where she’s meeting her friends.  Since it was already late at night, mom decided to go along with dad to keep him company on his way back home.  Its even a short distance drive and within the city but still, we see to it that dad has a company whenever he drives at night.

Our place doesn’t have the roadside assistance to call on when you run into road incidents so its best to take extra precaution yourself to avoid any hassles while on the road.

what does the future have for you?

August 18, 2010

My little boy is so adorable! hehe well that’s what I heard from family and friends and even strangers.  He’s getting more handsome as he grows older.  Some say that he’ll be a good material for a showbiz personality.  I don’t really like that idea.  I’d rather he live a quiet life, away from the scandalous life of show business and pursue medicine or arts or any decent profession except showbiz.  But with his looks, I wouldn’t be surprised if one day someone will approach him and offer a work as model for clothing line or footwear such as polo boots.  I’m sure they’ll have a hard time convincing his dad. We’ll see.  It’s too early yet to guess what his future will be.  As of the moment, we’ll concentrate on rearing him to be a good and responsible person, someone whom we can be proud of as his parents.

skin infections on him

August 8, 2010

My husband’s stay in PH is ending soon but he’s one unlucky guy. His sunburns from his mountain climbing got infected and his legs and arms have some pimple-like wounds growing on them. Doc said its folliculitis.  For already a week, we’ve been grounded at home.  His wounds are painful when they get rubbed with his clothes, so he rather stay home than suffer and worsen the skin infections.  Poor him, he’s not allowed to eat most of his favorite foods such as mangoes and seafoods.  Its a big irony, being here in the Philippines to finally eat all the great foods he missed for a long time, and then not being allowed to eat them.  It’s like getting free lady gaga concert tickets and getting sick on the day of her concert.  Sooo ironic!  I hope the infections will heal coz he only got less than a week left of his PH vacation.

here comes the rain again

August 4, 2010

It’s raining, it’s pouring!  It has been like this since we arrived in Talisay, my hometown.  There are days when the skies would pour down like it wont end, alternated with days when its too hot, it feels like you’re in furnace filters.  On rainy days, it gets cooler though, which is good but its bad health-wise coz mosquitoes are abundant during this kind of season.  My little girl would have enjoyed playing outside in the garden but we don’t let her stay there for long coz the bloodsuckers might prey on her.  Too bad for her.

As I’m writing this, its raining like crazy.  I expect to have a nice sleep tonight.  Rainy days always makes it the best time for sleeping.
