a help for teen-agers’ woes

September 28, 2010

This is a complex world we have, what with all the new products, both for home use or for a person’s intake, like medicine. This latter is something we should be cautious with, especially with our teen-age children. In their desire to treat a common problem of a teen-ager – acne - they may be affected by accutane.  Symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea (which may be bloody), vomiting, or weight loss, or sometimes complications outside of the gastrointestinal tract like skin rashes, arthritis, inflammation of the eye, to mention some, could be its effects. However, parents, take heart. There are law firms handling Accutane Lawsuit. It’s better to approach them for they are experts on this matter.

who’s influencing your child?

Children these days are very much affected by their environment. Number one to influence them are their friends. They are also keen and very imitative most especially with what they see or listen – therefore the radio, the television and the print media. We cannot truly shield them from all these, as they are all around, plus the exposure of the internet. But if the foundation in the home is prayer, coupled with the parents’ good example, the good morals and gentle manners absorbed in the home, topped with God’s guiding hand, by His Spirit, will be enough to give peace to the parents wherever their children may be in the future.

raising a teen-ager

Parents should be watchful of what their teen-agers use, not only for things like their bags, dress or shoes, but also of what they take as health or beauty aids, especially with their acne, as mentioned in the recent post. They have better be watchful also with their friends, for these latter may bring them to unwanted adventures like tripping with prohibited drugs or the like; Or going out - with friends again - for curiosity’s sake, to places which may be dangerous. If they truly love their youngsters, they really have to spend more quality time with them.

timepieces online

Online shopping is fun!  It is one thing that I can do without bothering other people to accompany me. Having two kids doesn’t give me the freedom to go malling anytime I want.  With so many limitations, I am more inclined to shop online.

Its good that there are thousands of products which you can find in the internet without going out.  IWC Watches caught my attention earlier while browsing.  For people looking for luxurious timepieces, Lussori offers not just watches but also jewelry.  Would you believe you can even find vintage timepieces from their shop?  If you’re fond of twitter or Facebook, you can add them to your account and get special offers and updates. How’s that for convenience eh?

almost over

September 27, 2010

Caity’s swimming lessons will soon be over.  She will have her last lessons on Thursday.  Although she didn’t learn a lot, its already a good start for her.  She was exposed to swimming, she overcame her fear of water, and she’s already confident being in the water.

We plan to continue this when we’re back in Prague. Her grandfather has already took the responsibility of accompanying the little girl in her lessons there.  I only hope that Caity will participate even if the teacher there is different.  There was one time that her teacher was absent and she didn’t want to go in the water with anybody else.  Yeah! I hope that won’t happen when we’re in Prague!

sunday’s video chat

It has been over a month since hubby and I got to video chat.  Earlier when Caity was in bed getting ready to sleep, I noticed that hubby was online.  I asked Caity if she wanted to see her dad, to which she excitedly say yes.  Once she saw her dad in the video, she was smiling a lot. I decided we better go downstairs and use my sisters’ notebook coz mine doesn’t have a webcam.  I wanted hubby to see how his daughter’s reaction is.

Caity was happy to see her dad and hubby was happy to see her as well.  Fortunately baby A was still awake, so we also showed him to hubby.  Caity didn’t want to say goodbye to her dad but it was already past her bedtime, so I had to end our video chat.

Caity didn’t cry anymore unlike before when she saw her dad in the webcam.  She was actually acting shy towards him but I know once they meet again, she will be back to the way she is with her dad around.

invest in gold

September 21, 2010

There is another important aspect of gold which is worthwhile exploring: that of its being used as investment. One can invest in bullion gold, which means that it is raw gold with a value based on a daily spot price, which rises or fall. Another alternative is to invest in a certified rare gold coin, a collector’s item which they call numismatic. This has three elements, it should be historical, rare & in perfect condition. With this, even with the price of bullion gold rising or falling, the value of the numismatic coin is not affected. The value of a certified rare coin also appreciates much faster than bullion gold.

healing time

The last big bump on Caity’s head burst the other day.  I am glad the worst is over for her!  It grew as big as a cherry, I was even already alarmed how it will disappear.  I applied calamine cream that afternoon, and the next day when she woke up, the bump was already open and oozing out were pus and blood.

Today it got better.  The bump is already so small and has dried.  In a few days it will leave a scar and just peel off. Thank God its already healed before our trip back to Prague.

it’s over soon

I’m starting to pack up the things I’m sure I’ll be bringing home.  I don’t like packing up, so it is better that I start early to avoid missing anything.  Always, always I forget something behind.  I hope this time if I ever forget something, it’s not an important thing/s.

Almost three months of vacation. What have I accomplished?  Only very little (yet).  There are many things I wanted to do, but haven’t yet done.  Maybe next time, a shorter vacation would be better.  And its better if hubby is around.  As husband and wife, we are concerned about the same things so its easier to plan and work it out, unlike dealing with others who have their own concerns.

a unique learning approach of a beauty school

The goddaughter of my mom comes to us as helper, manicurist, and as a massage therapist too, and she’s happy with what she can do to augment the income of the family. She learned her skills from a six-month free training by a government entity. It could have been much better had she finished in a cosmetology school in Orange Park.

Regency Beauty Institute is a well known fast-growing beauty school. It has a unique program wherein, as part of their training, students service their clients at a discounted pricing, under the supervision of an expert faculty. This is beneficial for all concerned: the student, the clients, and the school with its faculty.

promil kids

I was chatting online with my friend in Prague.  She commented that baby A is so cute and chubby.  She added that he’s overfed with Promil.  I wondered how she guessed right what baby A’s milk is.  So I asked her.  She told me that her neices and nephews drink this milk and they’re all chubby!  Weeee!

Caity used to drink Promil before too (when she was her little bro’s age) but she wasn’t as fat as her baby brother.  Probably coz Caity is more active.  She burns the calories fast before they turn into fat! ehehe

disciplining a three year old

September 19, 2010

Moms out there, have you really disciplined (I mean, in the real sense of the word!) your three-year-olds? Mine is a head-strung little girl who is very strong willed, especially when she says “No!” But as I learned from my mom, mothers/parents should take time – and energy at that – in curbing the wills of their youngsters while they are yet young and supple, rather than tolerate them, and they grow up unruly. Of course there are times when they are sleepy or hungry or maybe not feeling well, in which extra consideration is needed.

Sometimes it is a battle of wills, like when she would hit me, or would throw things or would do any other mischief. I scold her (sometimes hitting her back, when called for), and would tell her not to do it again, and to say “sorry”, to which she would shout a high-pitched “No!” Of course, in the end, she would come crying to me saying “I’m sorry, Mama” and would kiss me and hug me. Nice thing for these little ones, in a while, she would then resume her happy mood, singing and asking to watch “Wubbzy” or “Peppa the Pig” as if nothing happened.

the value of gold

September 18, 2010

Gold must be a popular topic these days, as people continue to be attracted to it beauty and magic. Almost everywhere, and almost anything, as you can see in homes or offices, commercial establishments or even churches, or temples, ornaments being adorned are made of gold. And they stand out, most especially with the gifted hands of a sculptor or artist.

However, gold has a higher level of use aside from the above. The business world and governments have a distinguished purpose in patronizing gold, and buying gold coins. As to the world of business and finance, they use gold to preserve their wealth and purchasing power, as it always appreciates in value, it never depreciates like any other commodity. Aside from its being a unique investment, it also diversifies said investment. As to governments, they use gold to secure the value of the paper notes they release as money.

too much energy

We went earlier to the SM branch of Banco de Oro to deposit money for my membership in a club.  As usual, little Caity was bursting with excitement especially when we told her that she was going to meet her playmate, Bea. She was chattering along the way!

Both kids were happy when they saw each other.  Bea spent last weekend with us, she slept over on Friday and Saturday.  When they parted, each was looking forward to the next weekend to come so they can be together again.  And next weekend has come!

I bought Caity some cheap toys and they played with it when we arrived home.  Caity slept late playing with the toys, even when her playmate was already fast asleep.

I don’t know where this little girl gets her energy!  I patted and sang her to sleep and eventually she was off to dreamland. But after like an hour? hehe

a trip to watch!

The end of our vacation is approaching as each day passes, and we cannot avoid talking on how I’ll manage through the trip with the two young ones, the three-year old Caity and eight-month old (by that time) Adie. Our going back to Prague will have a seven-hour stop-over in Korea, which I’m thankful will be daytime.

We put much trust in the Lord God to help us and send us angels along the way, as what I have experienced many times. This boosts my confidence, and just watch out here, for surely I’ll report it to you, my dear friends.

gold power

September 17, 2010

Not only as material for jewelries does gold excel – if you notice the big dangling gold earrings and accessories of the fashion-conscious ladies and popular movie stars and models.

Gold has a deeper meaning for many, and this is when they use it as an instrument to stabilize their purchasing power, and when they use it for investment purposes. Even governments have such a distinguished use for gold in that this serves as the security behind the amount of money, in form of paper notes, which they release. It can be kept as coin or bullion, in convenient shape and size, which is easy to store.

practical tips for a healthy you

I can never find time to do exercise or workout!!!  Being a busy mom, I squeeze in all the work I can do in a day.  Even during afternoons when they take a nap, I still find myself working.  Its actually the best time to do houeschores or my internet work coz there are no distractions. Also before going to bed at night, I still manage to work. Whew!  When do you think can I include a special time for workout?

I am just so glad to have stumbled on glucomannan, a fitness blog that provides practical information on diet and healthy practices.  It gives tips on what food to eat that will provide more energy but less calories, that are already readily available in our refrigerators and also habits that can make on tone his or her muscles, lose weight or burn calories. Learn how to have skinny legs or how to lose weight using vinegar.  Interesting, isn’t it?  Do give the site a visit!

sleeping well

September 16, 2010

I have been able to sleep straight at night, having been relieved of attending to baby A by my sister.  I don’t have problems with dark under eye circles anymore. Its good to separate baby and big sis Caity so they can sleep better.  Before, when they still share the same room, each will wake up when one cries.  Caity usually wakes up at night to pee or when she feels uncomfortable.  Her voice wakes baby A.  On the other hand, when baby A cries coz of hunger, Caity is also disturbed. For now this situation has already been resolved but when we go back to Prague, we’d probably place them in different rooms again.

the ever-precious gold

Gold are attractive to children, that’s why mommies, beware of your gold jewelries, as young ones can put them into their mouths, or may accidentally swallow them. It can bring disaster to these little ones who are not yet aware of the danger. Surely, this is not the reason why many buy gold coins!

Ever since time immemorial, gold has been a favorite instrument to preserve one’s wealth and purchasing power, and also for investment. Kings, emperors, sultans of long ago, and now even governments, use gold for stability of their financial status. Another reason for keeping gold is the ease in which it can be preserved in convenient size and shape, in coin or ingot form.

making money online

The past days, I received lots of assignments for my online work which is really a blessing.  After a week, I’ll be able to collect the money.  Being a mom of two kids, I can’t go out and look for work but because I’ve found a way to make money online, I can still earn without leaving my kids at home.  I do my work whenever they’re asleep in the afternoon for their nap, or at night or whenever it’s convenient for me.  Sometimes, my hubby also helps look after the kids when he comes home from work, so I can do my assignments.

There are many advantages with making money online. I don’t have to spend time commuting to and from work. I don’t have to worry what to wear.  I can be in my sleeping clothes and still make money!  It’s really great. Working from home is best for mothers like me, so we can still be with our kids during their formative years.
