a parent's journey...

it’s all about self-control

September 15, 2010

Nowadays, while on vacation here in our beloved home country, I’m often uneasy how I could grow with the unwelcome look of having gained weight! Or have I really? I would like to convince myself: NOT really. But I could feel it, and I could see it!

So I researched on weight loss pills, diet programs, whatever…and found this phentirmene 37.5mg , an appetite suppressant, which together with diet and exercise, can treat problems of this kind. Should I try this? I believe though, that  a real control of self, especially with eating the right kind of food can do wonders. So bring it on!  Give me more food! hehehe I’ll eat a little only.

choosing a degree

Parents of youngsters who would like to pursue the military career can now look forward to their children finishing their college degrees even if they are in the military.

Many educational institutions offer various benefits, like scholarships, grants or even degree programs tailored for the military, and even for their families. A person’s military inclination therefore is not a hindrance to his having a college degree. He can research degrees offered by online institutions from which he can choose to pursue, even while in active service or duty. Education is truly a key to one’s success in life, and according to one’s choice, he can be happy with a course of his choice.

where’s my friend?

I haven’t seen my friend C since I got here.  I wonder if she’s still fat.  The last time I saw her, she was huge!  hehehe  She has tried many sports to lose weight. She got discouraged coz it didn’t help at all.  After all the effort she did, she might be interested in Diet pills that work without exercise.  Easy peasy!  Just pop the pills and the magic works!

Anyway,  I hope I’ll be able to see her before my vacation ends.  It’s really difficult to go out since I have two small kids to take care of even if there are helping hands around me coz my eldest sticks to me like a glue. Unless she comes to our house to visit me, then there’s no chance for us to meet.

bumps on her head

I don’t know what’s causing these red, bloating bumps on us.  I say us coz hubby had it first, then Caity and also me.  Mine was only one and its almost healed.  Hubby had it the worse (and many!) but he survived it and the bumpswere gone already.  But little Caity still has it… on her head.  Some have already healed but there’s still one big left on her head.  We asked the doc about it and she wasn’t alarmed at all.  The folks say its just “singaw”, caused by too much heat.  Caity hasn’t been complaining about it, but she just doesn’t want us to touch it.  “Don’t touch Mama!” she’d tell me if I take a look at the bump.

We went on an errand earlier, went to banks, the SSS office, got some car insurance quotes and bought groceries, with  Caity tagging along.  After lunch, she already looked tired.  I took her to the room for a nap.  She was in a playful mood so we played for awhile, singing, tickling each other and ooopppsss, I accidentally touched the big bump on her head!  She wailed loudly, big tears flowing from her eyes.  Usually she cries for a short time only, but this time it took her so long to be pacified. huhuhu  I bet it was really, really painful!  Well, I have experienced having it, so I should know.  Poor Caity. She cried herself to sleep.  :(   I hope its the last bump she’ll have!

bathroom and kids

September 14, 2010

I posted about having a classy bathroom for our future house, and what better way to make the look complete than by installing bathroom fixtures such as Moen kitchen faucets which I found while doing my usual browsing in the internet.  With sophisticated and refined designs, it would surely impress anybody.

Little Caity is probably one of the firsts who will appreciate it.  This little girl is choosy when it comes to bathroom.  Whenever we’re out and she needs to pee, she will hesitate using the toilet if she doesn’t like it.  She’s like a health inspector!

the power of gold

September 10, 2010

When I was still in my teens, I would wonder why most people like to buy gold especially jewelries.  For me, it’s an unnecessary purchase coz gold products are expensive.  It was only later when I was in my mid 20s that I realized the value of gold.

Investing in gold is a safer way to safeguard one’s wealth because of its purchasing power and because it doesn’t lose its value through time.  Gold is also easily convertible to cash unlike land which takes awhile to sell.  People even during the ancient times have already known this power of gold.  Aside from that, it is also synonymous to beauty.  Many people have been fascinated by its beauty, turning them into ornaments, jewelries, etc.

Today, gold are sold in gold bullions or coins to investors along with other precious metals by the United States Gold Bureau.  If you don’t know where to invest, try buying gold!

a classy bathroom

I get excited when I see bathroom suites like this:

We still have to build our own house for the family so the possibility of having a classy bathroom which we can only see in first-class hotels is very much at hand for us. We already have a lot located in subdivision by the sea with resort-like amenities.  All we have to do is save up for the construction of our house.

One might think that making a great-looking bathroom  can be expensive.  If you are a smart buyer, you should know that there are stores like Better Bathrooms that sells bathroom products including tiles at lesser value. Currently they are having their stock clearance wherein you can avail of their cheap offers.  If you’re in need of shower systems, bathroom furniture sets, shower enclosures and doors or even toilet and basin sets (check out their modern as well as their traditional sets)now is the time to buy coz their prices are low.

Its sale, sale, sale for all your bathroom needs!  Better hurry folks coz its only until September!

I hope when the time comes for us to build our house, Better Bathrooms will have a sale too, so we can get their fabulous products at a lesser cost.

learning to swim

September 9, 2010

Caity has started her swimming lessons last Tuesday.  I am glad she’s finally able to a productive activity while were in vacation.  She’s responding well and enjoying it.  According to mom (who’s keeping the little girls company along with Dad), the teacher is great with kids.  She knows how to handle Caity.  During weekdays, its a one-on-one lesson but on Saturdays, she will be joining other kids.  The lessons are done in the residence of the teacher - a safe place to learn swimming. Its an old house, not a metal building but made of wood with the swimming pool located in their backyard.

Hopefully before we go home, Caity has learned how to swim.

who’s calling?

September 7, 2010

We were going about our morning business when the phone rang.  Who could it be?  It was for my big sis.  She looked serious while answering the phone, curious me was wondering who it was. hehe  Its not always she gets phone calls from the landline.  It turned out to be an insurance agent, offering different types of life insurance and health insurance.

Well, I’d rather these agents contact through email or do it online coz calling by phone can bother people, especially us who are busy and don’t have time to spare listening to their proposals.  Many people are already availing of online insurance since its convenient.
