a parent's journey...

A parents’ harrowing experience

November 14, 2010

When my brother was yet a child, he was very active and sort of irrepressible. I salute my mom for having raised him up – and all five of us – to be the good, responsible and law-abiding citizens that we are now (Ahem!!! You have to take some horn-blowing once in a while).

Back to my bro: This “yaya” of his, just to let him give in to her, especially in times for his afternoon sleep, gave him a coin, which child as he was, put this into his mouth and swallowed it! It was a big danger for his life, as he was rushed to a hospital, and into the operating room, not for operation, but for a very critical medical maneuver, to get the coin from his throat!

This must have been a very harrowing (my bro had a near-death moment in the process!!!), expensive experience for my parents (At that time I was not yet around, as I’m the youngest). And this is a big lesson for us moms now: Not to give coins – how much more the glittering gold coins – to our young children!

Okay, so gold is not for children, especially the coins! These have much better use and it’s for investment. For more information about this, you can visit the website of United States Gold Bureau, which is an expert on precious metals investment.
