We seldom use our TV. Our kids aren’t addicted to it too. Whenever I say it’s time to turn it off, my eldest girl wouldn’t wail or throw a fit like other kids would. In fact, we’ve already cancelled our cable TV subscription coz I don’t think its worth spending for.
I can understand why other people would think of this as odd though. I know there are people who are fond of watching TV, who would even go to lengths of buying huge flat screen TVs, tv stands and nice sense-surround system and all that jazz.
Our family is satisified with watching movies in the computer. Even my little boy prefers that over TV. He knows the drill already. When he wants to be fed, he’d pull my computer chair and sit on my lap; the rest is up to me to set up - to play his fave Baby Einstein videos!

It’s officially summer already but we don’t have sunny skies and hot, hot temperature. Duh! It has been rainy lately, with cold wind blowing sometimes. I wish it will get better the coming weeks. I miss going to the fitness area beside our building for game of ping pong. Hubby and I have only played there about three times and since then, we haven’t been near the ping pong table.
There are so many things I want out family to do before we leave for a two-week vacation in the Nordic region of Europe. I want to visit the farm, so the kids can see the different farm animals, I want us to go strawberry-picking, see new places in Czech Republic which we haven’t explored yet, etc. etc. A lot of things to do, for such a short summer duration.
How about you? What are you planning to do this summer?
I was chatting with my sister in YM earlier and one of the topics we talked about was the upcoming Father’s Day this SUnday. She was thinking what they should do on that day to make dad happy. I myself was also thinking what to give as gift for dad. Being away from home makes it difficult to send gifts with the costly delivery fee. And since I don’t have much money to splurge on some electronics (yeah I wish I can afford to buy him a new TV), I opted to give dad fathers day gifts under 50 in a form of cash. Shhh don’t ask how much. hehehe It’s not much but I hope he will be happy with it. What matters anyway is the thought. Right dad?
My sister then asked me what will I give hubby, to which I couldn’t find the answer. Even a friend of mine also asked. Knowing M, he’s not fond of gifts, so I think we will just do a special activity with the family; something that all of us will enjoy, something like making our own pizza. hahaha I have really been meaning to make pizza with my little daughter. And making it with her dad would be more special. I don’t know. I hope we won’t be lazy when Sunday comes.
I find myself to be getting busier than ever. Adie who usually naps twice a day (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) has been skipping his afternoon naps, thus I have to spend extra time watching him and not being able unwind in the the afternoon like I used to do.
I used to spend these downtime hours in the afternoon when the kids are asleep taking a short rest or doing household chores or catching up with my online work and surfing the net; visiting my favorite mom and fashion blogs (and sometimes end up on sites about pets or garter belts! yay!).
But these days, I noticed that I can’t even seem to do it anymore. I am lagging behind my blog posts which makes me a bit sad coz there’s plenty I want to write down especially the kids’ antics and developments.
I really hope Adie will get back to his usual two-naps per day, to give me little time to do things.
For music lovers who would not like to miss their music even while doing work, or going places, the headphone/earphone on-going revolution is much welcome. Not only are they improved in quality, even their size, color, designs and other features are being studied for a better lure to the user.
Oh technology, even headphones are raised up to a new level. In the newly developed, high-tech designs, features are added so that they offer now astonishing performance and sound quality. Better sound isolation is also an added feature. In one design, an In-line control capsule is added in ear headphones. There are also earbuds that black out outside background noise so that one can completely focus on his own music. The designers also see to it that the earphone fits comfortably in your ear while you listen.
