Lost flowers

July 31, 2011

A couple of nights ago, my hubby and Caity went shopping.  When they came back, Caity rushed to me and was babbling. “Mama’s flower is lost!“  I asked her what flowers.  She kept telling me with sad face that the flowers were gone.  Hubby later explained that he brought me a boquet of roses and daughter wanted to hold it herself after he paid for it.  She got pricked by a thorn and put it back on the counter without his knowledge.  When hubby was taking out the groceries from the shopping cart, he noticed that the flowers weren’t there.  They went back to the store, it was already closed. Too bad. :(   Caity kept comforting me that her dad will replace the lost flowers.  “It’s okay Mama, Táta will buy another flower“. It was cute.   I’m sure hubby felt bad about it too.  I wanted to tell him that he can order flowers cheap but forgot about it.

Well, even if I didn’t get to see the flowers, it felt good to know that hubby thought of giving me one coz he seldom does that.

Vacation is over!

July 29, 2011

We’re back from our two-week vacation in the Northern Europe!  I’ve been busy washing our clothings and bedding, rearraging our stuff and organizing closets. Whew!  When you say two weeks, it seems like a long time, but when all the days are filled with activities, it can be very short.  So guess what? Yeah, we feel that two weeks flew by so fast! One day we were buying gifts for our hosts and the next thing we know, we were already packing up and choosing what gifts to bring home to our family and friends.

It wasn’t difficult to choose gifts for M’s parents though coz we already know what they like.  Dad is collecting bells from different countries, so he automatically got one from Stockholm; Mom on the other hand is into liquorice which was famous in the part of the country we visited.  Had we got a friend who likes tobacco, he’d probably get la flor dominicana cigars from us but since we don’t have any, then we skipped that.

After all the fun we had in our vacation, we’re still trying to snap out from that mode.  Too many good memories back there with family and seeing the kids so happy was just priceless.

Trip essentials

July 18, 2011

What a disappointment! I wasn’t able to take precious pictures when we went to the Jazz Street during the Pori Jazz Festival. Ugh. The camera I had with me lacked the most important thing – the memory card! Apparently, my hubby took it out to transfer some pics to the laptop and he forgot to return it. Sigh. You could be bringing along one of those best buy cameras online purchases in your bag but if it lacks a memory card, it’s good as nothing. You bet I will be extra careful next time and check our gadgets on the next trip.

Let’s go biking!

Whew, these are busy days for us while on vacation. The kids are enjoying their new environment here in my big sis’ home with their cousins and they love the wide expanse of green lawn in the backyard where they can easily run around. The neighborhood where we are staying is a quite one and the streets are safe enough for biking.

yes, parents deserve a break sometimes

July 11, 2011

We’re getting busy these days with an upcoming vacation. It’s really a break we owe ourselves as parents. *wink* It will be another mini-family reunion and I am sure the kids would love to see their uncle, auntie and cousins soon. Anyway, I might be tempted to do some shopping for local souvenirs and mementos there, especially ref magnets! Cashiers and barcode scanners, here we come! LOL. I still haven’t done any travel itinerary during our vacation, such as making a list of things to do and landmarks to visit, though I trust our hosts have already planned that for us. *wink*

SALE and shopping makes me happy

July 10, 2011

It was a good day to go shopping today coz there are lots of stores having SALE.  Being a practical person, I always look for discounted items.  I was glad to scour a nice ring that perfectly fits my ring finger for a very cheap price.  Beads are still in fashion!  I saw many bracelets made of beads in different colors and sizes.  There was one that was sold for half the price that I liked (style and color) but I didn’t give in to the temptation. Hehehe  Now I don’t know if I should regret not getting it or not.  Aside from accessories, I was also able to buy discounted tees for my son.  In fact 90% of the stuff we bought were discounted.  I just love this time of the month.  Its always best to wait for stores to have their SALE, coz you get the most value for your money.
