The old age

August 8, 2011

When you hit the old age, sometimes you get worried like who would take care of you, who would provide for your needs and what about healthcare?  Most would resort to researching about seniors term life insurance online, so they can compare the options available for their needs.

I am impressed by how developed countries have ready help for their older citizens, especially health care.  Its really sad to compare that in my country, the oldies have to be burdened with high medicine cost and doctors’ fee everytime they are sick.  But whatever material needs we lack, it is compensated by the abundant love and support from the family.  Unlike here in EU where the elders are left to fend for themselves or just placed in senior’s home.

I wonder what’s in store for me when I am old…

What makes her happy

I got an email from big sis earlier reminding the us siblings about mom’s upcoming birthday this Thursday.  I know my mom likes to share her blessings with others like the other year when she brought packed lunch boxes to the prisoners in our community’s jail.  One time, she invited the squatters nearby our house.  I was around last year when she turned 70, and we threw her an intimate birthday party and invited relatives, her friends and the members of our prayer group. This year, I know she might appreciate getting Black diamond earrings but what would make her happiest is sharing her special day with the less fortunate.

I still haven’t asked my sis yet what is mom’s plan for her birthday but I’m sure it would involve charity acts.
