Some parents are cool with having their kids play computer games or console games. My kids are only 4 y/o and 19 months and I don’t want to introduce them to these kinds of games (yet?). Well, later when they’re older, they’d probably get to learn it from their peers, but not as early as now. I’d rather let them run around outside or get creative than spend their time with games.
This Christmas, there won’t be a need to purchase xbox 360 or xbox 360 hdmi cable, as we won’t be getting them. But hey, this mama is interested in having a wii for fitness. Geez!
One of Caity’s favorite thing to do is to ride on ponies. When we were in Sweden on a short vacation, we had to squeeze into the little time we had there for her to ride on a pony. She was very happy though, so we really didn’t mind. After she alighted the horse, she asked for another round but there was a long queue and we really couldn’t spare any more time there.
Two weeks ago, when we attended a children’s activity, there was a free pony ride which Caity didn’t miss to take advantage of. There were fine horses, with accessories probably bought from english horse tack store. The kids had lots of fun taking turns, riding the ponies. With her love for horse-riding, it makes me wonder if Caity would want to be an equestrian someday.
While most people get into yoga for attaining peace, for relaxation or fitness purposes, others are doing for getting healthy. According to the article I read from Yo Basics, yoga can help in treating diabetes. By doing gentle yoga regimen, diabetes patients can be helped in stabilizing their blood sugar levels, lose weight and can probably even lessen their risk of secondary complications.
An increase in yoga schools, and sales of yoga products such as sunshine yoga mats are results of more and more people getting into yoga. In fact, a friend of mine is seriously considering enrolling in a yoga course. I think she’s also going to do it for health purposes coz she lately complains of having migraine attacks.
I recently chatted with a cousin whom I haven’t heard for sometime. She updated me about her life especially about heart matters. It all started when I teased her about having a boyfriend and she opened up and told me that she’s in a relationship for two years now.
Though the guy seems responsible and a good one, there is a legal matter that’s keeping their relationship from moving forward. The guy used to be married and is still waiting for it to be annulled. I don’t know if they’re into promise ring etiquette but with this predicament they’re in, it doesn’t seem like they’re going to tie a knot anytime soon. The church annulment would take about two years more, and in that time, there’s plenty of things bound to happen.
My cousing asked for prayer support for thei relationship, that God will show His plan for both.
Summer break is over, and that means holding off any travel plans as kids go back to school and parents are back to work. But not for my friend who’s planning to fly to Asia for this month. She’s bringing home her little boy for the first time to see her family. Life isn’t easy for her, especially that she financially supports herself and her kid, after she divorced her husband. But she’s missing her mother and friends back home, so even if she has to get cash advances from work, she did it just to shoulder her travel expenses.
I really do wish her success in her present work. I know she’s got what it takes to succeed. It only takes time and more perseverance on her part. With her homecoming, meeting family and friends and seeing the country she misses so much, I’m sure it will give her that boost she needs to go on with her life and to face the challenges that will come along the way.
Being away from loved ones is difficult, but thanks to technology, communication has never been easier and affordable. For my case, I use the internet to chat or video call my family back in the Philippines. Sometimes, my parents and my siblings who are located in various parts of the globe also do cheap conference calls for important matters or even just to keep in touch and give updates about our lives. These conference calls really bridge the gap among us who are far from each other and it feels like we’re all in one room. Though we live in different continents, the time difference doesn’t stop us from communicating with each other. If not for the wonders of technology, I don’t know how I will be able to fight homesickness.
