Dancing with Whitney

February 24, 2012

The death of Whitney Houston on the eve of Grammy’s shocked and rocked the world especially her family, friends and fans.  It was known that she has been battling for years against drugs and alcohol, but still her death came as a surprise.

I won’t deny liking some of WH songs way back when I was young. (:  I used to sing along with her hit songs, “I Have Nothing“, “The Greatest Love of All“, “I Will Always Love You“, to name a few.  I also like dancing along to her “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and “How WIll I Know”.   She’s got a great voice and would probably be perfect if she can also rock it with a warwick electric bass. You also have to agree that she had some of the nicest songs that time.  And I sure got lovestruck watching her movie with Kevin Costner “The Bodyguard“. What a waste of talent, really.

With Michael Jackson gone, Whitney Houston gone, it only tells us one thing… death is inevitable and fame and money isn’t an assurance of happy life.

Presents for Mothers

A kiss, a hug, a handmade gift or a bunch of wildflowers picked while taking a walk out in the forest are some of the simple yet very sweet presents for mothers day that any mom can receive from her kids.  Last year, my 3 year old daughter gave me few pieces of dandelions she picked on our afternoon walk to a nearby lake.  She wasn’t really aware that it was mothers day, but she’s used to handing me flowers when it’s abundantly growing during spring and summer.I’m always holding flowers every time we’re out.  “Mommyyyy!  Flowers for you!“, my daughter would excitedly call out to me.

dandelions

Maybe this year, I’d get something specially made by her as one of their crafts in school.  The teachers would probably ask the kids to create a gift for their moms.  But whatever my little darling gives me, I’d be more than happy to get it.

Thoughts on investing

February 5, 2012

The past weeks had been good in terms of financial venture, as I’ve seen the rise of some of the stocks I invested in. I was holding back though in buying more shares coz the prices are higher. hehe  I told myself, it will go up and up anyway so better buy soon.

Other investments like to buy gold coins is also advisable. I already have a couple of gold coins bought a decade back and it would be nice if I can add more.  I know its value will increase through time and I can even pass it on to my children someday.   Oh if only I have the money for this.  Investing and putting up my dream business wouldn’t be a problem.  Gotta start little by little. In time, it might add up to something.
