saying bye to processed foods?

June 6, 2010

With so many unhealthy food options that are commercially available nowadays, i.e. fast food fixes, MSG laden junk foods and sugar loaded sweets, I’m seriously considering about slowly letting go of the processed foods habit and going for more healthy food choices. I’m sure this would result to a much healthier and active me who’s not anymore worried about how to how to reduce belly fat. That means I’ll have to start cleaning up my shopping list of processed foods and buying more fresh food items then.

for the figure-conscious

May 30, 2010

As a mother, sometimes I wonder how I could raise up my little girl so as not to be affected, especially with all the fashion consciousness around these days. Even teenagers nowadays are so figure conscious to hide any body lumps and bulges, to make themselves sexier. And innovations are up-to-date in providing solutions to prevailing needs. This kymaro body shaper must be a favorite if they will know about it. It’s composed of a body shaper up and a body shaper bottom – I salute to the one who got this bright idea! I still wish natural ways such as exercise and diet will weigh more for her comes the time when she will be big enough for these things.

another quick breakfast food

May 13, 2010

Mornings are usually crazy in the house especially when both kids wake up at the same time.  I have to change their diapers, prepare food for C, feed her, feed the baby, feed myself…  Sometimes I give C bread or crackers to munch while I feed her little brother.  Then prepare her breakfast when everything else has been settled.  Foods for breakfast should be quick and easy to prepare, just like this porridge from Marks & Spencer.  It only takes less than 5 minutes to prepare and it’s also nutritious.  It’s good for health fanatics and for those who are looking for diet pill that works coz fiber-rich foods aid in prevention of constipation, lowering cholesterol and most of all, weight loss management.

It comes in 8 indivually packed packets good for one bowl and with different flavors too.  The pic above shows the strawberry flavor.

are your kids picky eaters?

April 16, 2010

I’ve watched advertisements on TV about kids not so enthusiastic about the food set on their table particularly with veggies and fruits. There’s this commercial about a kid who’s always having fried chicken for his meals, and another toddler who’s more focused on a nearby musical toy than the spoonful of food being shoved into her mouth. So how do parents feed their kids with nutritious meals when most of them are picky eaters?

According to nutrition experts, here are some ways to feed picky eaters with nutritious meals:
- Introduce a new nutritious meal together with the kids’ favorites
- Avoid feeding your kids with junk foods that are high-calorie and high in fats

goals, goals, goals

January 19, 2010

I’ve recently read an article about asking yourself good and stimulating questions to put your life on the right track. No, they’re not specific questions such as “What’s my dream destination this year?” or getting health information such as “Does nutrisystem work for my diet goals?” The questions suggested on the article are more focused on habits, relationships, character, and life issues. The more important things in life depend on how we react to situations and circumstances, and having a positive attitude to go with.

this is it! :(

December 5, 2009

I’m feeling so stressed out lately.  There are so many things to do at home, and the fact that hubby is unable to help me makes it even more difficult.  I am just so tired, running around; doing this, doing that…  Caity sometimes doesn’t make it easier for me.  And being on my last trimester of pregnancy makes me easily tired.  HELP!!!!  All these activities work as effective fat burners I guess.  I wish a fairy would come over, tell me to just sit and relax while she does everything for me. I just have to command her what to do, without lifting a finger.  But I guess it won’t happen. :( waaaaaaaaaaaaaa It’s very frustrating!!!

savings on drinking water

September 15, 2009

Tap water in our home can not be trusted.  Even the water district officials are advising residents to boil their water for drinking.  Others have resorted to buying purified water in gallons.  I’m glad we have a water purifier at home.  This not only provides us with safe drinking water, it also allows us to save money rather than spending on purified water.   We only have to spend on water filters whichwe change occassionally.  I found an online site which sells ukf7003axx water filter for discounted price. That means more savings!

we’re on a fruit diet

June 9, 2009

There are so many fruits in the house!  Last Friday, hubby brought a bunch of bananas, a box of peaches and few more peaches… Then last Saturday, we picked some cherries along the way from our trip.  When we got home, the dining room was smelling with the strong mix of aroma of the ripened bananas and peaches.  We have to eat them all fast or else they’ll just get wasted.  Fruits are great colon cleansers and are healthy to eat too. If we can’t finish the bananas, at least I can make them into banana cake.  Expect us to go to the bathroom more often, teehee!!! :)

he caught the virus too

April 26, 2009

I thought after being sick for three days, I’d finally get well in time for the last day of the weekend so we can take our little girl to the park. Got that idea after browsing on rv parks . Thank God I feel well already, but its hubby’s turn to be sick!  I think I passed on the virus to him.  He’s suffering from diarrhea and has a fever with 38.6C temperature. =(  I hope he feels better soon as it’s difficult having to take care of two “babies”!  To keep my work from piling up, I am tackling them now one by one while hubby and our little girl are sleeping.  I’ll take a rest later too just to be sure I’m 100% healthy.

how to lose weight effectively?

I bet it’s easier to look for diet pills that work than take the effort to lose weight especially that summer is only few months away.  For busy moms, spending time in the gym for exercise is something they can’t afford.  There’s tons of work in the office, not to mention the work waiting at home too; and there’s the kids to take care of.  Some though have plenty of time but are simply lazy to sweat it out.  I don’t know how true it is, but they said that diet pills works best only if you incorporate it with a fit lifestyle and habit.  Do you think taking diet pills alone can make one slim?

the little girl has a fever

March 28, 2009

Caity has a fever but that didn’t stop her from playing.  When you look at her, you’d think she’s not even sick at all.  She still plays, runs around, dances, etc. -  doing the usual things she does every day.  But once I put her to bed, that’s when she acts sick.  While she was sleeping earlier, I took her temperature. It was 38.8C.  According to one site I read in the internet, it’s nothing to be alarmed about.  It’s not even advisable to give the child aspirin… just let the body fight with the virus naturally and wait until the fever subsides. And that’s what I’m doing.  I hope she’ll be well before her dad arrives from his trip.

kettlebell fitness

March 24, 2009

I’m aiming to be fit!  Kettlebell fitness seems to be a new find.  It came out with the six-week body transformation to be done in only 20 minutes, 3 times a week.   I’m not actually fat but having a toned body without the fats seems to be a nice idea especially that summer is only a season away.

Have you heard of Kettlebell?  Have you tried it?  Did it work for you?  I’m quite curious. =)

less carbohydrate intake

March 13, 2009

I’m following my sister’s advice, to lessen my carbohydrates’ intake which she learned from Atkin’s.  But as much as I’d like to, getting together with friends especially if I am the host can be a detriment to this goal.  Last Tuesday my friends were here and I prepared some food for them.  Though they brought home some of the left-over foods, there are still plenty left. My husband goes home late at night and doesn’t eat breakfast and lunch at home, so I am the one who has to eat those foods!  It took me more than three meals to finally finish all the rice I cooked.

Next week, I got an invitation to a birthday celebration.  I’ll try to stay away from carbohydrates!  Promise!  I really want to lose the bulge in my tummy before summer comes for that sexy and slim body!  And hey, wearing bustier corsets might help give me a sexy look.  What do you think?

mango float or not?

January 21, 2009

As I am working online right now, my thoughts are on the mango float I’m going to make later. We have a whip cream sitting in the ref for weeks already which needs to be used ASAP or else it will just spoil.  It would be a big waste coz it was expensive!  Now I’m wondering which is a better choice, let it spoil or buy more ingredients to make the mango float and eat all those calories. Oh well, I guess I’ll just go ahead and make it.  All the ingredients are there already and it’s been a long time since I last ate mango float.  Maybe it wouldn’t hurt my diet if I indulge a bit.  How about some Leptovox to slim me down? Heh!  I promise I’ll lessen my calorie intake in the coming days!

good little girl

January 17, 2009

It’s a weekend, and what did the little girl do? Caity spent part of her morning watching Barney while eating banana and orange in her high chair. She just loves to eat fruits! (which is very good for her health).

Do you notice that she has only one sandal on? Hah! She took out the other pair and she has it in her hands. Clever kid!

tired me

January 8, 2009

I’m sooo tired today.  Even if the holidays are over, we’re still not done running errands (and shopping!).  We we’re out the whole day and came home already at night.  I badly want a massage!  It would be nice to have someone massage my back and legs while I comfortably sit on a home theater seating watching a romantic comedy; but all that is wishful thinking.  *sigh* The reality is, there’s no one to massage me, we don’t have a sophisticated theater seating and lastly, we also don’t have any DVDs to watch.  So what to do? SLEEP!  That’s the best solution for a tired me.

still on the subject of food and eating

December 21, 2008

And so my siblings have arrived one after another the past weeks. Like me, who’s living out of the country for some time, they’re also craving for Filipino dishes.  Last Wednesday was our parents’ wedding anniversary celebration and we dined out at Max’s and came out bloating.  Geezz… well, even without any occasion we’re always pigging out.  At least I can say that about myself.  After each meal, I’d always tell myself that I’ll eat less the next time, but it doesn’t happen.  I’m always stuffed afterwards. Huhuhu!  Food is so tempting!   How about you?  How do you keep yourself slim and fit?  Do you eat less?  Exercise everyday? or take diet pills?

eat, eat, eat!

December 13, 2008

After having been deprived of my favorite Filipino dishes for many months of being away in the Philippines, I’ve been making up and eating a lot!  If I continue this eating habit, I think I will be gaining much weight by the time we’ll go back to Praha. Huhuhu…and then come Christmas, there will be lots of parties to attend to which means there will be plenty of food too. Sigh.  I might need some top rated diet pills to keep my weight down if I’ll bloat like Santa, wooohoooo!

diet pills reviews

November 27, 2008

Have you been using diet pills?  If so, what diet pill are you taking?  Consumer Price Watch has come up with review of diet pills which is a good source of information if you’re looking for effective and safe pills to take.  So here’s another diet pill that’s similar to Xenical - alli.  It works by reducing the body’s fat absorption but consumers don’t really lose a significant amount of weight.  To know more about this product, its effectiveness, safety and possible side effects, visit the Consumer Price Watch website.

sniff, sniff

October 24, 2008

Having a sick child is what parents dread the most.

Today, my girl woke up with runny nose.  Like me, she usually has it for a short period of time, like an hour or two and then it disappears.  It isn’t much to be worried about, but a little later, I noticed that she’s slightly hot in temperature.

I think she caught colds the other night when she went out with her dad to meet with his colleagues.  Public places are usual sources of these types of sickness.

Though the kid is acting normal; she’s still bubbly and playful, my problem is that she can’t sleep well.  She usually naps in the morning and afternoon but she had a tough time sleeping this morning coz of her clogged nose.  Sigh… I hope it gets better soon so she can sleep well or else she’ll be a cranky baby!
